1. I am Kate
2. I am 28 (oh look, 1 and 2 rhymes)
3. I am currently kind of homeless. I am staying with a friend in Falls Church while I look for a place to stay.
4. I love doing laundry- i have a slight obsession about detergent and softener.
5. I hate taking out the trash. Seriously hate it.
6. I rarely remember to make my bed- much to my mothers chagrin.
7. I love turkey sandwiches on wheat with mayo, swiss and pickles.
8. I hate tomatoes, olives, ham and lima beans.
9. I would eat my body weight in pretzels and ruffles potatoe chips if only it were fashionable to be a whale.
10. I am a part time knitter. I have 6 different projects on my needles.
11. I love to cook, although since January, I have only touched the stove three times. That sometimes makes me sad. I am just really lazy lately.
12. I ride the fence when it comes to politics- makes for interesting conversation.
13. I believe in God.
14. I used to be Catholic. Now, I am not sure.
15. I really, really want a family some day. My friends are all getting hitched and getting pregnant, and it really hits home.
16. I hope to make a good mom some day.
17. I love music. I love it so much, that I dont go a day without listening to something.
18. When I travel, I take a few CD's with me as well as my iPod.
19. Speaking of my iPod, I try to buy a few new songs for it every week.
20. One of my all time favorite songs is Woman Do Right- by Aretha Franklin.
21. Speaking of Aretha, I actually did some work for her back in the late 90's.
22. Back in the late 90's I was living in the metro Detroit area.
23. At that point, I was living with a Candadien. Frankly the whole experience has put me off Canada.
24. One of my vacation dreams however, despite #23 is that I want to go to Prince Edward Island, and see all the Anne of Green Gables schwag.
25. I am lucky enough to have a few best friends.
26. My oldest best friend and I have known each other since the mid-90's. I wanted to be her friend because she was old enough to buy liquor.
27.My next best friend I have known for 3 years. He and I just instantly clicked. Yes, we broke the When Harry Met Sally rule- you dont need to want to sleep with each other to be friends.
28. When Harry Met Sally is my all time favorite movie.
29. I have an annoying habit of watching movies that I like over and over and over.
30. I love Journey. Steve Perry makes my toes tingle.(the voice man, the voice)
31. I associate all the guys in my life with music.
32. I never had a boyfriend in High School.
33. Instead, I had a really good friend who was older than me by a year or two, and he was actually the first guy I "gave it up to"
34. Sometimes I wish I would have waited till I actually loved the guy, but for a first time, it wasnt so bad.
35. I have never been married, but came really close once- (The Canadien)
36. I have a really great talent of falling for the worst guys ever for me.
37. I have internet dated. I have had ad's on yahoo, EHarmony, and match. Got me a lot of funny first (and last) dates, and good stories.
38. I sincerly doubt I will ever meet my "soulmate" (gag) online. Hell, I don't know if there is actually such thing as a soul mate.
39. I do believe you can love many people in your life.
40. As I get older, I start to fear marriage more. I am afraid that the choice won't be correct, and then I will be back in the same place I am today.
41. Most of my friends are getting engaged or married. I am one of the few solo peeps left in our crew. I wonder how many of the couples though, are truly happy.
42. I hate seeing people fight. It makes me very uncomfortable.
43. I hate seeing a child throw a tantrum in public.
44. I hate seeing adults throw tantrums in public.
46. When I retire I want to live in a cottage on the water.
47. I want to get married in Vegas, and come back and throw and awesome party.
48. When I die, I want my friends to throw a huge party for me.
49. My favorite moments in life are when I am surronded by my friends and family at my home.
50. I love to read trashy romance novels.
51. I buy cookbooks by the bulk, and rarely use them, other than for inspritation.
52. I collect dishes. I love changing the look of my table.
53. Part of me secretly only wants to get married, so I can register.
54. I want a yellow lab.
55. I used to have a cat. His name is Harry. He now lives in the Country. Really, he lives in the country. He wasnt going to be a good city cat.
56. Hell, I dont know if I am going to make a good city girl.
57. I want to join, and am joining Junior League.
58. I love to volunteer, and wish I could just do that full time.
59. I really enjoy the work that I do, but I don't see me doing it forever.
60. I would love to open a catering business
61. I would love to open a resturant called Kates.
62. I would love to have a deli that would sell kick ass sandwiches, wine, and cut flowers.
63. Sometimes I miss being a waitress.
64. Sometimes I wonder how the hell I got into technology.
65. I have two cell phones. One for work, one for personal. I try to turn them both off on the weekends.
66. I check my email at least 3 times a day on the weekend.
67. I want to take a vacation this year that will completely disconnect me from everyone.
68. My favorite vacation ever was my trip to Key West my freshman year in college.
69. I love going on road trips if someone else drives.
70. I think Waffle House is the most perfect road trip food.
71. I lived in Texas for over 5 years. I think everyone should live in Texas for at least a year.
72. I have been to all the major cities in Texas- El Paso, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Amarillo, and Austin.
73. I don't even know where to begin exploring in DC
74. I was in my first accident two weeks ago, on the beltway.
75. I get a secret thrill every time I drive down Constitution Ave.
76. Despite my political laziness, I still think the White House is an amazing powerful symbol.
77. I don't think I would ever want to run for a political office.
78. I do however, like to boss people around. Always have.
79. I do not like to be bossed around. Rumor has it, I have a problem with authority.
80. Speaking of authority, my mom and I clash all the time because we are so much alike.
81. I have a younger brother Joseph.
82. My dad and I have a weird relationship.
83. My family, extended and immediate are not that close. I hope that I can change that over time.
84. I never met my fathers dad. He came from Lithuania when he was a child, and passed away when my dad was a teen. My grandfather was a baker.
85. My maternal grandparents had a big influence in my life. They both passed away.
86. Death is a hard thing for me to deal with. In fact, I don't like to deal with it at all.
87. Change for me is actually hard to deal with. I like routine, and knowing how things are going to happen, and when, and why
88. I am so predictable, i always paint my nails one of three colors- 1. Power Lunch by Essie, 2. Really not a Waitress Red by OPI, or 3. Kennebunkport Red by OPI.
89. I hate the way my nails look unpainted.
90. I get pedicures every third week.
91. I wish I could get a manicure every week.
92. As I get older, it freaks me out to look in the mirror some days- I dont recognize the old person in front of me.
93. I have been wearing glasses since I was 7. Sometimes I wear contacts, but generally I am too lazy to fill the prescription.
94. I love going to the Dentist. Its my favorite medical thing to do.
95. I graduated in 1995
96. I really didn't like college
97. Despite the earlier bitching, I love to work. I loved work so much more than college. I hated talking about it, I wanted to DO it.
98. I am lucky to have great friends and family
99. I love the friends that I have made in blog land.
100. I want everyone to attempt their own 100 list.
